The Argyll Charter Boat Association [ACBA] has made it known that it fully supports the call for Argyll and Bute Council, after 8 years of faffing around, to act quickly and constructively in response to the campaign to implement the Oban Bay Marine proposal for a short stay transit marina between the piers – a project supported unwaveringly by the lcoal business community from the outset.

Argyll Charter Boat Association is a group of commercial operators of charter boats on the Scottish west coast and is largely Oban focused. It has 18 member businesses.

What it says about itself reinforces the authority of its voice in this campaign:

‘The Argyll Charter Boat Association was founded in 2000 as a means of trying to bring a unified voice to some of the common problems faced by charter boat operators throughout Argyll. Membership is open to all commercial craft [sail and motor] available for charter. The association operates a ‘listening brief’ policy on boating issues local and national informing members where issues may affect them. When membership identifies issues which will affect the industry, particularly locally, ACBA supports and represents the views of local charter boat operators.’

As an organisation committed to collective support, the representation of a collective voice and one with a declared ‘listening’ ear, Argyll Charter Boat Association is a force to be reckoned with and a voice to be respected.
